The following are the current standard wireless protocol defined.

802.11a

This standard was approved in 1999 by the IEEE committee. There is a maximum data rate of 54 Mbps with 5.15 GHz - 5.35 GHz and 5.725 GHz - 5.825 GHz unlicensed in the United States. The advanTAGe of 802.11a is higher throughput, but the coverage is small and mobile access points are needed. There is much less interference fromDevices such as mobile Ph Meters and a speed of 120 Mbps is concentrated.
